Go! Go! Daddy

係未起依個blog之前, 我係blogger插個旗, 但冇乜點用, 跟著過o左xanga, 好d, 叫做寫過下野。一路而來, 自己host 個blog 同photo album o既念頭就愈來愈強烈。 每次睇電腦雜誌都會留意係d web-hosting 公司o既廣告。但一直都舉棋不定, 一o黎因為從未試過, 唔知點開始; 二o黎係唔知d 公司質素如何, 所以一直都冇郁過手。

直至一次同paco chat, 佢講話佢公司o既website 係hosting 係美國一間叫做 go daddy o既webhosting company. 聽個名, 一d都唔pro, 但paco話佢用o左幾年, 都好stable, service亦ok, 咁我就抱著半信半疑o既心態上個網頁望, click 下 click下, 唔知點解就俾錢就範, 跟著又唔知點解 click下click下起o左依個blog, click下click下起埋個photo album……….

尋日係無意識咁web surf其間, 睇到一篇article 訪問godaddy o既老闆 bob parson, 我先知原來godaddy 係非常出名, 仲要係美國最大o既webhost company, 由佢公司代理o既domain name 數字遠遠拋離其他對手, 無人能及。
Bob Parsons 越戰退役軍人,80年代自學coding而擠身成IT人。睇完篇文章, 佢俾我o既感覺就似係維珍o既老闆Richard Branson, 不單只諗頭多多, 仲識得點様做宣傳, 不斷制造話題, 憤世嫉俗, 反主流O既個性令佢’玩’轉Domain hosting industry, 令到Go Daddy係云云眾多o既competitor突圍而出. 佢係美國版o既’殺價超人‘. 當市場上big player 都sell緊USD35一年for domain registry, 佢就賣大飽收USD9蚊!先用賤價頂爛市, 再sell 各色形式o既add-on product o黎搵真錢。另一個令佢成功o既原因係落重本做customer service, 佢話:
“People think that because we’re an Internet company, we should be less people-intensive. I believe the exact opposite. When it comes to the Internet, people like dealing with people.”

佢依句野 簡直係我quote of the year, 個d 迷信於IT萬能o既人, 好應該細細咀嚼。

佢制造話題o既招數多多, 最出位莫過於請出美國o既女優國戰士做代言人, 拍廣告, 仲要放係美國super bowl o既air time 播放!! wow!
