Travel Tips:

  1. the plug adapter bought in HK doesn’t fit there. Save your money and just borrow from your hotel.
  2. wide angle lens is a must, esp for indoor shooting like in Museum and Cathedral
  3. It’s hard to get Russian Ruble 俄羅斯盧布 in Hong kong.  Suggestion is that just change US dollar or Euro and change to RUB from Airport or Hotel. Or you may simply take a card with you. ATM machine is everywhere in the city.
  4. Bare in mind that there is long distance between international terminal to domestic terminal in Moscow Airport with no shuttle, sure you have enough time to catch the inland flight.
  5. If you fly aeroflot, from HK to Moscow and then change inland flight to st pete. Airline will transfer the luggage for you, no need to pick up and carry it to domestic.

Food and Drink:

  1. people drink voldka like nothing there!
  2. soup, many different kinds of soup, is one of main dish in Russian Cuisine. Interstingly, they add sour cream for all soup.
  3. the real 羅素湯, Borsch, is very different from what we have in HK, much tasty
  4. tea. not only the English drinks tea, in fact, it’s also tradition drink in most eastern europe countries. There are lots of tea house found in st pete
  5. Kazakhstan food is so delicious. It’s style is so close to 新疆菜, probably because it’s also a Muslim Country.
  6. Dumpling. not only the Italian makes dumpling in Europe, it’s also tradition food in east european countries, like Russia, Ukraine & Lithuania. They even have sweet dumpling, putting berry or cheery inside, as dessert!
  7. It’s weird seeing lots of Sushi Restaurant there.

Day Route Remark
Day 1 ‧巴肯山 Phnom Bakheng 睇日落的熱門地點。可惜當日多雲，加上現場實在太多人，令人興緻大減！
Day 2 ‧吳哥窟 Angkor Wat 

‧吳哥王城 Angkor Thom

巴戎廟 Bayon -> 巴本宮Baphuon -> 空中宮殿 Phimeanakas -> 癩王台Terrace of The Leper king / 鬥象台Terrace of Elephants -> 勝利門Victory Gate (standard route)

‧周薩神廟Chau Say Tevoda -> Thommanon (not a miss)

‧吳哥窟Angkor Wat

‧塔普倫寺Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider! end @ 6:30pm)

 

 5:30AM 出發睇日出，可惜天氣不佳，密雲滿佈，欣賞不到出名的吳哥窟日出！
Day 3 ‧荳蔻寺 Prasat Kravan (soso: 8:30AM) 

‧Banteay Kdei -> 皇家浴池(good)

‧變身塔Pre Rup

‧女皇宮 Banteay Srei (good)

‧達松廟Ta Som (soso but tree)

‧龍蟠水池 Preah Neak Pean (good)

‧寶劍寺 Preah Khan (good; end @ 6:30pm)

 

 第三天的重點是女皇宮及最後一站的寶劍寺。
Day 4 ‧崩密列 Beng Meale (7am; worth to visit but hard to take good pic) 

‧Roluos Group (pass-by)

巴孔寺 Bakong

神牛寺 Preah Ko

羅雷寺 Lolei

 

 到第四天開始感覺有點膩，崩密列是值得一遊的，但Rolous Group 可以的話，跳過算了。
